James R. Otteson
JAMES R. OTTESON received his BA from the University of Notre Dame and his PhD from the University of Chicago. His books include Adam Smith's Marketplace of Life (Cambridge, 2002) and Actual Ethics (Cambridge, 2006), the latter of which won the 2007 Templeton Enterprise Award. His most recent book is Adam Smith, published by Continuum in 2011, and he is now at work on a book for Cambridge University Press entitled The End of Socialism. He has taught formerly at Georgetown University and at the University of Alabama, and is currently professor of philosophy and economics, and chair of philosophy, at Yeshiva University in New York.
